When we set out to evaluate the eufy New 2026 Robot Vacuum, C28 Omni, our primary goal was to understand its value proposition and how it stacks up against its predecessor, the eufy X10 Pro Omni. Our team found that this robot vacuum excels in several key areas that matter for day-to-day home maintenance, but it's not without its significant quirks. In our testing, the hard-floor cleaning performance was a standout. The 27 cm roller mop, applying a substantial 1 kg of downward pressure, genuinely delivered streak-free results. We observed it efficiently tackling everyday spills, from dried mustard to sticky ketchup, without leaving behind residue or patterns. This roller mop technology is a notable advantage; compared to the dual spinning disc mops found on some premium models like the Roborock Qrevo CurvX, the eufy's approach seemed more adept at handling larger messes and dried-on stains for its price tier. The 15,000 Pa suction power is also quite potent. While some newer competitors boast over 35,000 Pa, we found the eufy C28 Omni's suction to be more than adequate for lifting pet hair, kibble crumbs, and fine dust from both hard surfaces and low-pile carpets. Pet owners will appreciate its ability to handle surface-level fur effectively on deep clean modes, a positive surprise that aligns with user feedback mentioning strong performance on hard floors and rugs. However, the 'smart' aspect of this robot vacuum is where some concerns arise. The iPath 2.0 navigation system, while designed to detect obstacles, has shown inconsistencies according to user reports. We've seen feedback detailing mapping problems, including rooms being randomly skipped or the vacuum taking an excessive amount of time to navigate familiar layouts. This contrasts with more advanced AI object recognition found on models like the Dyson Spot + Scrub AI. From a value perspective, the eufy Omni C28 is positioned as a more affordable alternative to Eufy's own higher-end offerings, like the eufy X10 Pro Omni, which features dual mops and higher suction. It also competes favourably in terms of value with models like the Roborock Qrevo CurvX, offering similar cleaning performance on hard floors but with different strengths and weaknesses. The dock itself is notably more compact than some rivals, a plus for smaller living spaces. We did encounter specific, concerning reports from users. The failure of a right wheel within days of receiving a unit, leading to replacements, is a red flag for hardware reliability. Similarly, persistent 'clogged sewage tank' notifications, even when the tank was not obstructed, suggest potential software bugs or sensor issues. The companion app's 'sparse' nature, lacking per-room suction adjustments or a simple mop-only mode, also limits its customisation for users with diverse cleaning needs. Ultimately, our analysis suggests the eufy Omni C28 is a strong performer for hard floors and mopping duties, offering excellent value for its cleaning capabilities and the convenience of its station. However, potential buyers must weigh this against the reported issues with navigation reliability and occasional hardware glitches. For those who prioritise superior mopping and pet hair removal on hard surfaces and can tolerate potential software quirks or the need for troubleshooting, it represents a solid investment. If absolute, flawless smart home integration and navigation perfection are paramount, you might need to consider higher-tier options or be prepared for a learning curve with this model. It's a capable cleaner, but not one without its controversies.
